About Center for Urban Poverty Solutions
Established in 2008 as the Institute for Urban Public Policy, a public policy "Think-Tank"; the Center for Urban Poverty Solutions works to advance policy and practice towards solutions to poverty in low-income urban communities.
In addition to public policy advocacy, its expanded mission is to help train and support professional and volunteer practitioners working in low-income urban communities. We do this through community-based research, analysis of evidence based best practices, and culturally informed training for the development and delivery of programs and services in low-income urban communities.
Our work is informed by practitioners, policy makers, funders, community residents, business leaders, educators and other subject matter experts in areas impacting urban poverty, economic development and community transformation. See our Community Partners Page for more information.
