Overview

This course is designed for both professional and volunteer practitioners working to address poverty in America. It is designed to unpack how misperceptions about race, class and culture work to perpetuate poverty and focuses on equipping them to overcome those misperceptions to develop programs and services that work to interrupt the cycle of poverty for the individuals and families they serve. Answer Poverty works to advance the practice of social service work towards solutions that interrupt the cycle of generational poverty. We work in collaboration with public and private sector organizations to develop programming in all areas of community development including workforce development, education, civic engagement and public policy reform.
